The ASCII filter calls the text codes engines for processing based on user selection.
The ASCII filter records and accepts macro commands.

The IFF CTXT filter is used by the IFF DOC and IFF ILUS filter for loading/saving text. The loading/saving process may be passed a progress meter from a calling filter.
