What are you trying to say? That you can shrink a pdf from PGS even better in another program? Well I've seen this, but not as drastically as you have. I've seen half of its (PGS->pdf)size. So, is it a bug? Theo

Yes it's a bug. I'm not saying another program can shrink it better. Just that Pagestream is not shrinking the bitmaps at all, even though I had it turned on. So the setting doesn't work. Compare the sizes of the files I listed. The saved pdf file is larger than the original Pagestream document. Now look at the small size of the same pdf file, after I loaded the 12.3 MB pdf file into Preview, then saved it out with a filter set to reduce the bitmap image to 100 dpi. Quite the difference, wouldn't you say? -Ernest

I did finally figure this out. If you scaled/resized the picture in PageStream, it gets confused. Leave it at 100% and this option worked correctly. [Status updated to 'Fixed in 5.0.5.9' on Tue, 21 Dec 2010 23:59:22 -0500]
