Printing to a postscript printer fails without an error. Testing done with HPLJ2300 and Brother HL-4070. A page with just a box appears to produce perfectly valid postscript (as judged by ghostscript) but fails to print to the HP. A more complicated page (real document, multiple text frames, a border and a graphic) also fails to print but running through ghostscript produces the following.

tim@jai:~$ ps2pdf Documents/PDF/pgs50431-test.ps

woops. I forgot the HP had been turned off. It looks like just the more complicated page is a problem.

Can you narrow this down to something specific and attach the document? Nothing in the error output is helpful in determining what is wrong. Thanks!

I wonder if it is related to the PDF issue? Probably not, but when I printed a single page (the one where I expected it to fail) it worked -- excepting that the graphic was incorrect: transparency in a PNG printed as black to my HPLJ2300 postscript printer.

Printing a range starting with that complicated page and including pages consisting solely of a single text frame over master page text elements (both framed and frameless) also worked. Very strange as this failed during earlier testing. At this time printing is working on both printers. Which is good, but to prove I'm not crazy I still have the postscript file I saved...

this appears to have been resolved. Printing from linux tested to work correctly
