According to the online documentation two paths can be joined if they are merged. This does not work and attempts to do so (aborted when the join aspect failed) led to segmentation fault.
Although this does not result in a segfault it still does not work. That is, draw two paths, select both and Object/Path/Merge Paths will make the two paths into a single path having a single stroke, but they are distinctly separate and cannot be joined. According to the documentation dragging one end point to another will close the path. In reality, nothing happens. There is no difference using Object/Path/Union. Using the macro command CLOSEPATH has no effect if there were originally two paths, except for reclosing one original path (though it depends on what points are open). Tested with PgS 5.0.2.10rc3 on Linux
Object/Path/Union will merge paths if they overlap (make sure the path direction is correct first!) The issue then is the joining of paths through dragging. Apparently this is not a current capability so I am changing this to a feature enhancement request. | |
