According to the PgS documentation you can use formulas with tables

I've never had any need for this but I just ran into a situation where it
would be useful and I'm not having any luck. It seems that no matter what I
put for a formula, PgS enters a 'g' (without quotes).

For example, specifying

=1

in cell B5 results in a 'g'. Same result for

1

in cell B6 specifying

=B5+2

also results in a 'g'

Further, Theo confirms this behavior with the same result using PGS5.0.4.4 and Windows XP.

Two errors combined to produce this. The biggest change is an all new parser/evaluator.
