For many cases of text flow with left-aligned graphic the text over writes the drop cap. This appears to be a situation where left-indents are ignored if there is a text wrap in effect.

This is an annoying bug and persists to this day. I've reported it several times on the mail list and I've had to resort to the workaround of manually creating drop caps which, of course, have to be adjusted when text edits affect the position of the drop cap in the layout.
